Day 4 and Shaved Duck

8 more days of work till I'll be spending the majority of my time packing and preparing to move. Also, only 4 days till I get to enjoy the Soulard Oktoberfest fun!! Soooo excited! Jeff and I have one of those VIP passes for Sunday so you get unlimited beer and food, as well as access to the nice toilets! I'm very excited!!

So, here is my Day 4 page of my journal.

I guess it's not the best of pictures, but oh well, I was a little lazy about trying to get a better photo.

I had a nice evening with friends. One of my co-workers and now one of my best friends came over after we got off work and we went for a walk in Tower Grove with my dog and husband. After our walk we decided to go out for some dinner. We went to The Shaved Duck in Tower Grove East. It's only a block from where one of our friends lives so we called him and asked if he wanted to join us, and he did! It has awesome food, we had a great time enjoying good food and talking. I love my friends, I'm going to miss them all sooooo much!!!

This is how they served their Corn bread, how awesome?! My friend said it reminded her of something from an easy-bake over, so cute!

I got the Duck Confit Pasta, best duck I've ever eaten!

So, that's my day in a nutshell, well minus what I do at work, but that's confidential for patient privacy!

Home Practice- Yoga

Today I did my very first yoga home practice session. I've done yoga sessions with videos before this of course, but this time I attempted to do some poses and vinyasas without guidance. It's so hard to do this without a teacher. I know I still have a lot to learn, but it was fun experimenting with the things I remember.

I put on some calming music, lit some incense and rolled out my yoga mat. It may not have been the most focused because I had 2 dogs playing around me the whole time, but after a few positions and some attempts at the wheel pose I had worked up a sweat and was ready for shavasana. I attempted meditating for as long as I could, but of course the dogs got all excited above me while I tried to not think of anything. I did starting "oming" at one point which actually totally calmed the dogs down!

I did achieve that feeling you get after doing a yoga session where you feel refreshed and calm afterwards. It's my favorite feeling!
Namaste!
